More than 13 million children – 1 in 6 kids – are among the 41.2 million Americans of all ages who struggle against hunger.
Children repeatedly go to school hungry and lack the ability and concentration to learn.
Hunger also spans the nation. A 2017 report found nearly the same number of food–insecure households in cities as in suburbs across the country.
After a lifetime of work, 63% of households with older adults (50+) find themselves facing an impossible choice — to buy groceries or medical care. 5 million senior citizens currently face hunger daily.
